How to Use

  1. First Setup

    • Follow instructions in BOOTSTRAP.md to define agent/user identity.
    • Update IDENTITY.md and USER.md with agreed details.
    • Review and personalize agent principles in SOUL.md.
  2. Session Routine

    • Read SOUL.md for agent core values.
    • Read USER.md for user context and preferences.
    • Check daily log files in memory/YYYY-MM-DD.md (especially today/yesterday).
    • For main sessions with your human, load and update MEMORY.md (long-term memory).
    • Use TOOLS.md for environment notes (devices, aliases, etc.).
  3. Reminders & Scheduling

    • Reference reminders.md for current/one-time task reminders.
    • Check backup/cron-jobs.json for cron job schedules.
    • Use lists/alisa-schedule.md for Alisa's school schedule.
  4. Recovery

    • If the agent loses memory/state, follow steps in RECOVERY.md to restore from backup and reset schedules.

Notes

  • Memory Handling: Write down important events/decisions—don't rely on "mental notes." Daily logs provide raw context; update MEMORY.md with distilled, significant information.
  • Security: Only use MEMORY.md in direct sessions with your human; avoid loading in shared/group contexts.
  • Boundaries: Respect privacy; follow user preferences described in USER.md and agent values in SOUL.md.
  • Reminders: Differentiate between normal and important reminders; important items repeat until confirmed.
  • Customization: Add device/environment specifics to TOOLS.md as needed for your workspace.
  • Maintenance: Keep reminders and schedules current in their respective files for accurate operation.

For changes to core files (especially SOUL.md, IDENTITY.md, USER.md), notify the user. Review daily logs and periodically curate MEMORY.md.
